The Hyderabad drivers will now find difficult to violate traffic rules as a new system ” Traffic Management System (ITMS) ” is being developed with a budget of Rs 110 crore. It helps in catching speedster’s and signal jump violations. Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates are going to implement this new system. Most motorists violate speed rules despite repeated offences due to the absence of any system that is going to catch them.
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) was awarded the ITMS where the speed of vehicles will be recorded, the time taken by a vehicle in different stretches using sensors. The automated systems will calculate the time taken by a vehicle from one signal to the next signal, if they are travelling with more speed than the posted limit then a challan will be generated.
Hyderabad traffic police are now implementing the traffic guidelines which are issued by the Supreme Court committee on traffic safety. The licence will be suspended if anyone commits three different traffic violations in any combinations said AV Ranganath the deputy commissioner of police for traffic.
Union minister for state Sujana Chowdary’s son Karthik was caught for over speeding on Friday night. Police officials said that if he is caught for two or more traffic violations then his licence will be cancelled. By this system, the speedsters get alerted by these drives by traffic police. Police are targeting the racing routes of the city which are from Nagarjuna Circle to KBR Park, NTR trust Bhavan to Jubilee Hills Checkpost, Madhapur to Jubilee Hills Road No 36, Sanjeeviah Park to Necklace Road, Medchal to Nizamabad and several others.
