Hyderabad speedster’s to be caught with new system

The Hyderabad drivers will now find difficult to violate traffic rules as a new system ” Traffic Management System (ITMS) ” is being developed with a budget of Rs 110 crore. It helps in catching speedster’s and signal jump violations. Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerates are going to implement this new system. Most motorists violate speed rules despite repeated offences due to the absence of any system that is going to catch them.

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) was awarded the ITMS where the speed of vehicles will be recorded, the  time taken by a vehicle in different stretches using sensors. The automated systems will calculate the time taken by a vehicle from one signal to the next signal, if they are travelling with more speed than the posted limit then a challan will be generated.

Heavy fines will be imposed on motorists violating the norms, and challans will be issued at the exit points. This initiative is mainly being taken to curb accidents.
