Rio Olympics: Salman Khan As India’s Goodwill Ambassador

The Rio Olympics 2016 is a multi-sport international platform in Olympics. The name Rio has been selected as these games are to be held in Rio De Janerio, Brazil. The Rio Olympics are to be held from August 5 to August 21, 2016. Almost 168 (206 expected) nations are going to be participating in this Olympics. A total number of 7,363 (more than 10,500 expected) Athletes are participating in 306 events in 28 sports. These Olympics will be held at 33 venues in the host city and 5 venues in the city of Maracanã Stadium. First-time entrants like Kosovo and South Sudan are going to take part in this big event São Paulo (Brazil’s largest city), Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Brasília (Brazil’s capital), andManaus. Rio will become the first South American city to host the Summer Olympics, the second city in Latin America to host the event after Mexico City in 1968, and the first since2000 to be held in the Southern Hemisphere.

India At Rio Olympics 2016:

Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan will represent the Indian contingent as their Goodwill Ambassador in the Rio Olympics 2016. This is the first time Salman Khan is going to be a brand ambassador for the games. The official announcement is to be made in front of sporting stars like MC Mary Kom, Sardar Singh, Ritu Rani, Deepika Kumari, Archery,Apurvi Chandela, Manika Batra. Mary Kom won the Olympic Bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics while the likes of Sardar Singh and Ritu Rani, captains of the Men’s and Women’s Hockey Team, have qualified for the Rio Olympics.
