Fifteen passengers were injured following an explosion on a bus in Haryana’s Fatehabad district today. The blast occurred on a private bus on Bhuna Road of the town. A passenger was carrying a potash bottle and the blast was triggered by its breaking. The chemical is generally used in farming and also to break rocks.The explosion took place at around 11 AM near Bhuna when the vehicle was on its way from Jakhal to Fatehabad, following which panic-stricken passengers jumped off to save themselves.
The Haryana police recovered a bag inside the bus which is said to have been carrying explosives. For now, the man carrying explosives is said to be absconding. The SP said no passenger had come forward to claim the chemical substance yet. Haryana has witnessed three low-intensity blasts this year, two of which occurred in trains in Panipat.
